Batteries
What goes into your car
We carry the mainstream and OEM replacement lines on the van. Which one ends up in your vehicle is decided by what it actually needs, not by what we would rather sell.
Three things decide the battery
Not the price and not the brand. Get any of these wrong and the battery either will not fit or will not last.
- Group sizePhysical fit and hold down
- Terminal layoutWhich side each post is on
- Cranking ratingWhat the engine needs to turn
- ConstructionFlooded, EFB, or AGM
Give us the year, make, and model on the call and we load the right one before we leave.
Lines we stock
Interstate
MTP and MTZ. The most widely recognised name in the region and a common OEM equivalent.
Duracell and DieHard
Retail lines including AGM and EFB, covering most everyday fitments.
ACDelco and Bosch
Professional and Gold, S5 and S6 AGM. The usual answer for GM and European vehicles.
Exide, Optima, Deka
Edge AGM, RedTop and YellowTop, Intimidator. AGM and performance applications.
Flooded, EFB, or AGM
A conventional flooded battery is the right answer for a lot of older and simpler cars, and it is the cheapest of the three. EFB and AGM exist because start stop systems and heavy electrical loads cycle a battery far harder than a car from twenty years ago did.
Fitting a flooded battery where the manufacturer specified AGM saves money on the day and costs it back inside two years. We will tell you which one your car takes and why.
Warranty
Every battery we supply carries the manufacturer warranty that comes with it, on the manufacturer terms. That warranty covers the battery itself. It is not a warranty on the vehicle, on labour beyond the original installation, or on any other part. Keep your receipt and call the same number if anything goes wrong with it.
Not just a jump pack and a wrench
Hybrid and EV 12V
The small 12V battery in a hybrid or electric car still strands it when it dies, and most roadside outfits will not touch one. We will. The traction pack is a workshop job and we say so.
Start stop and AGM registration
Newer vehicles need the replacement battery registered to the management system. Skip it and the car keeps charging to the old battery's profile, which shortens the life of the new one.
Memory saver on every swap
Radio presets, the clock, and stored settings survive the battery coming out. Some vehicles still need a short relearn afterwards, and we tell you before we start.
What you pay, and how
You hear the total on the phone before anyone is dispatched. No membership, no call out fee inside our coverage area, and no core charge for the old battery.
