Privacy policy

This policy explains what Judge Batteries collects when you call us or send a service request, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who we are

Judge Batteries is a mobile car battery and roadside assistance service operating in New York City and New Jersey. In this policy, the words we, us, and our mean Judge Batteries. You can reach us on (347) 401-7538 or by email at judgebatteries@gmail.com. We are a mobile service and do not operate a retail storefront.

Information you give us

When you call us or send a request, we collect:

your name and the phone number we should call back on
the location of the vehicle, which you describe to us
the vehicle year, make, and model, when you provide it
the license plate, when you provide it
your exact GPS location, only if you press “Use my current location” on the request form
what you need done, and any notes you add

Payment is taken as cash or Zelle at the roadside. We do not process card payments and we do not store card numbers.

Information collected automatically

Our web host records standard server logs for every visit, including the IP address, browser type, referring page, and the time of the request. These logs exist to keep the site running and to detect abuse.

When you send a request through the form, we also record your IP address alongside the request itself, so we can tell a genuine enquiry from an automated one.

Advertising and Google

We advertise on Google, and this site carries a Google Ads tag so we can tell which adverts lead to real calls and real bookings. It counts three things: a press of a call button, a press of a text button, and a completed request form.

That tag is switched off until you allow it. Advertising storage is denied by default on every page, so no advertising cookie is written and no advertising identifier is sent to Google unless you press Accept on the cookie notice. Press Reject and it stays off, and advert click identifiers are stripped before anything is sent. You can change your mind at any time using the cookie preferences link at the bottom of every page, and the cookie policy lists exactly what gets set.

Where you accept, Google acts as an independent controller of the data its tag collects and uses it under its own privacy policy. What Google receives is the fact that a call press, text press, or form submission happened and which advert it can be attributed to. We do not send Google your name, your phone number, the location of your vehicle, or the notes on your request. We do not upload customer lists to Google.

This site also loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google to fetch them.

The request form can show the address you entered on Google Maps. The map is only loaded when you press “Check it on Google Maps” or “Use my current location”, and Google then handles that request under its own privacy policy. The request we receive includes a Google Maps link to the location so our technician can navigate to it.

How we use your information

to dispatch a technician to you and complete the job
to call or text you about that specific job
to take payment and issue a receipt
to keep a service record in case you come back with a warranty question
to keep the site secure and working

We do not sell your personal information for money. We do run Google advertising, and where you accept advertising cookies, the resulting sharing with Google may count as a sale or as cross-context behavioral advertising under some state laws. The Reject button, and the cookie preferences link at the bottom of every page, are how you opt out of that. If you have never pressed Accept, it is already off.

Calls and text messages

When you give us your phone number, you are asking us to contact you about that job. We may call or text you about arrival time, access to the vehicle, and payment. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop service messages, or tell the dispatcher on the phone. We do not send marketing texts to numbers collected through a service request.

Who we share it with

We share the minimum needed with the technician assigned to your job, and with service providers who run parts of our operation. Those are: our website host, which stores the site and the request log; Google, for the advertising measurement described above and only where you have accepted it; and our email provider, which carries the notification of your request to us. Providers acting for us may only use the information to perform that work. We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.

How long we keep it

Service records are kept while they are useful for warranty and accounting purposes, and then deleted. Requests that never become a job are deleted once they are clearly stale. The request log on our server is pruned on the same basis. Server logs rotate on a short cycle. Advertising cookies expire on Google's own schedule, typically about 90 days from your last visit.

Your choices

You can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email judgebatteries@gmail.com or call (347) 401-7538 and say what you want done. We will need enough detail to find your record, and we will not charge you for a reasonable request.

If you are a New Jersey resident, the New Jersey Data Privacy Act gives you rights to confirm, access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of your personal data, and to opt out of sale and of targeted advertising. Because we run Google advertising, that opt out right is a live one: use the Reject button on the cookie notice, or the cookie preferences link at the bottom of any page, and it takes effect immediately. We also honour a Global Privacy Control signal sent by your browser. For the other rights, the contact above is how you use them, and if we deny a request you may appeal by replying to our decision.

New York residents have comparable protections under New York law, and the same contact and the same opt out apply.

Children

This site is meant for adults arranging vehicle service. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS and request data is stored with access limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send sensitive documents to us.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date at the top. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the updated policy.
